Mutharika’s longtime ally Chimbanga appointed as Malawi Embassy first Secretary in RSA

Well-known longtime ally of President Professor Peter Mutharika , Leonard Chimbanga has reportedly been appointed as first Secretary in the Malawi Embassy in South Africa.
Chimbanga is the main man behind the APM Ayimanso movement which forced President Mutharika to return to frontline politics and win the 2025 polls.
The former councilor for Blantyre City South East Ward has confirmed of the development in a short statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.
“Thank you APM. Thank you Malawi,” wrote Chimbanga.
Chimbanga, a DPP diehard has consistently defended President Peter Mutharika on social media.
Meanwhile, the social media has been flooded with congratulatory messages.
