Two Road Construction Workers Die in Tragic Mixer Accident in Balaka

Two machine operators have died in a workplace accident at a road construction company in Balaka.

The victims, Chikondi George (24) and Geoffrey Makawa (26), were mixing concrete when a power outage stopped the machine.

While one worker was inside the mixer cleaning it, the machine was accidentally switched on after power was restored, trapping the workers inside.

Both were rushed to Balaka District Hospital but later died while receiving treatment.

Balaka Police Publicist Gladson M’bumpha said police are investigating the incident.
