Honda Fit Lands in River After Collision with Fortuner in Salima, Three Injured

A collision occurred last night on Mpatsanjoka Bridge along the Senga Bay Road in Salima District.

Following the crash, a Honda Fit travelling from Salima Town towards Senga Bay plunged into the river. Reports indicate that three people were inside the vehicle.

The other vehicle involved, a Toyota Fortuner travelling from Senga Bay towards Salima Town, was carrying two occupants who were returning to Lilongwe.

The three occupants of the Honda Fit sustained injuries and were taken to Baptist Hospital in Senga Bay for treatment. There were no immediate reports of injuries to the occupants of the Fortuner.

Salima Police spokesperson Rebecca Ndiwate has confirmed the accident but said the cause of the crash has not yet been established.

Investigations are underway.
