Police in Neno District have arrested a 33-year-old woman, Grace Samuel, of Kaingilira Village under Senior Chief Dambe, for allegedly pouring boiling water on another woman over suspicions of an affair with her husband.

Neno District Police spokesperson Rebecca Msoliza told Zodiak Online that Samuel had long suspected her husband of having a secret relationship with the victim, whose husband is currently living in South Africa.

According to Msoliza, the incident followed the discovery of messages on Samuel’s husband’s phone on July 5, which she believed had been sent by the victim.

“After finding the messages, the suspect invited the victim to her house for a confrontation in the presence of her husband,” Msoliza said.

During the confrontation, Samuel allegedly grabbed a pot of boiling water and poured it onto the victim’s face, leaving her with severe burns and blisters.

The victim was initially taken to Msambi Health Centre for treatment before being referred to Neno District Hospital for further medical care.

Police have since arrested Samuel, and investigations into the matter are continuing.
