Kamuzu College of Nursing students on strike over fee hike: police fires teargas

Police in the capital Lilongwe used teargas to disperse angry students from Kamuzu College of Nursing who were protesting against the recent fee hike by the University Council of Malawi.

The development comes barely two days after Police in Blantyre arrested 15 students from Polytechnic against the same.

According to information from Lilongwe, KCN students blocked the road entering Kamuzu Central Hospital, burning tyres and smashing vehicles.

Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the protest.
