MAN ARRESTED FOR DEFILING, KILLING A ONE YEAR OLD GIRL IN NSANJE

Nsanje Police have arrested a 21 year old man for allegedly defiling and killing a one year and six months old girl.

The District’s Police Public Relations Officer Sub- Inspector Samson Balakasi identified the suspect as Frank Fole of Millias village, Traditional Authority Mbenje in the district.

Sub- Inspector Balakasi said the girl was heading home with her aunt during the night of October 2 to October 3, 2015 and met the suspect Fole who allegedly offered to escort the girl to her father.

According to Sub-Inspector Balakasi said Fole allegedly defiled and killed the girl Lonjezo Gift during the night of October 2 to October 3, 2015.

Sub- Inspector Balakas said since then the girl Lonjezo and the accused went missing and people launched a search till October 3 when the girl’s relations apprehended the accused at Phokera.

“Upon being apprehended, the suspect revealed to have defiled and killed the child and dumped her remains in a bush about 2 kilometres from their home,” said Balakasi.

Balakasi said a medical examination conducted at Sorgin Health Centre in the district showed that the girl died due to suffocation.

“Let me tell the nation that the suspect will appear in court soon to answer defilement and murder charges,” explained the Nsanje Police Publicist.mana
