DPP back benchers endorses Mutharika

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) back benchers have endorsed President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika as the candidate for 2019 elections.

The endorsement comes barely hours after other MPs accused DPP Vice President for the South Dr. George Chaponda and the party’s General Secretary of pressuring them to endorse Mutharika and not the country vice President Saulos Chilima.

Some of the notable faces that attended the press briefing held at Golden Peacock Hotel in the capital Lilongwe includes; Ministers Francis Kasaila, Jean Kalilani, Anna Kachikho and Joseph Mwanamvekha.

Also present is DPP SG Jeffrey, Uladi Mussa, Felton Mulli and Deputy Speaker Esther Mcheka among others.
