Elections Case Update: MCP Witness Claims ‘Polls were altered after leaving polling centers’

Third witness for Malawi Congress Party president Lazarus Chakwera has told the constitutional court seating in Lilongwe that votes for the May 21 Polls were altered after leaving polling centres.

Peter Lackson Chimangeni who was MCP data entry supervisor has told the court during re-examination that upon leaving the polling stations figures on the form 66 C were being tampered with.

Chimangeni has singled out Fatima Community Day Secondary school polling centre in Nsanje where MEC uploaded on it’s website a blank form 66 C raising eyebrows as to what might happened with the original form 66 C.

Chimangeni has further told the court that in some worst scenarios the Malawi Electoral Commision went ahead to adminster results whose final results sheet had no monitors signatures.

Court will be resuming this afternoon as hearing continues.
