The revamped Malawi Congress Party under the leadership of Lazarus Chakwera has disclosed that it is set to hold primary elections to veto and choose the people to represent it in the forthcoming 2014 tripartite elections.

According to a press statement signed by the party’s Publicity directorate, Ezekiel Ching’oma, in conjunction with the heads of its Administration department and Elections directorate, the party will start holding the primaries this week (the second week of November).

The decision to hold the primaries, according to the release, is in line with the party constitution and a resolution reached by the National Executive Council of the party.
