The president of Malawi Dr Lazurus Chakwera has urged the newly appointed Ministers to work with the people so as to develop the nation.
Chakwera made the remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of the few newly appointed Cabinet Ministers at  private residence in Area 6, Lilongwe.
Chakwera said he has made only five appointments because they are crucial in the transition of the government.
He said the rest of the cabinet will be released before the inauguration day and the cabinet will consist not more than 30 Ministers, including women.
Chakwera, who was sworn in yesterday as the 6th president of Malawi after accumulating a lot of votes in fresh presidential poll that happened on 23 June, has appointed the state vice president Saulos Chilima as the minister of Economic Planning and Development and Public Sector Reforms.Felix Mlusu a former Managing director for NICO Holdings Limited has been appointed as Minister of Finance.

Mordecai Msiska who represented Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the presidential elections case has been appointed as minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The position of Attorney General has been given to lead lawyer for United Transformation Movement (UTM) in the presidential elections case Chikosa Silungwe.

Richard Chimwendo Banda hs been appointed as Minister of Homeland security.
