Karonga Diocese Vicar General Denies Chitete dies

Death has been announced of Father Denies Chitete who was serving as Vicar General of the Karonga Diocese which is headed by Bishop Mathews Mtumbuka.

Episcopal Conference of Malawi Secretary General Father Henry Saindi has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Saindi, Father Chitete died in Lilongwe on December 24 where he was receiving treatement.

Chitete was until his death Vice Chairperson of Karonga District Peace Committee and he contributed in the drafting of the National Peace Commission Bill; according to secretary Aaron Mwenelupembe.

Mwenelumbe has described Chitete’s death as a big blow coming just two weeks after the committee lost its chairperson.
