Nsungwi Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 24-year-old woman, Promise Kamtepa, on suspicion of assaulting her husband with scalding water at their residence.
Kanengo Police, overseeing Nsungwi Police, disclosed that the woman’s husband is Limbikani Mulota, aged 41.
According to Inspector Gresham Ngwira, both parties have been in a domestic relationship since 2019 until January this year when they engaged in a dispute, leading to their separation, although they continued living together in the same house and she had already packed her belongings just waiting to finalize separation.
Ngwira further explained that on the fateful Saturday, the man allegedly used woman’s cup to drink tea, which angered the woman, leading her to pour the hot water on his belly.
Currently, Mulota is receiving medical assistance at the Area 25 Health Center in the capital city, Lilongwe.
Promise Kamtepa hails from Kathewera Village, under Chief Chipeni in Dowa district, and is facing charges of assaulting another person.
