The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) is failing to pay Roads Fund Administration over K100 Billion of fuel Tax since 2022

Speaking in an interview Spokesperson for Roads Fund Administration Masauko Ngwaluko has confirmed today saying the development has affected the completion of roads in the country since levies are their major source of income.

MERA spokesperson Fitina Khonje has attributed the delay to gaps in the collection and remittance of the road levies but was quick to point out that the issue is being handled.
