Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba barred from contesting at MCP convention

Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba, who showed interest to contest on the position of First Vice President for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) at its upcoming elective convention, has been dropped on the list of contestants.

Chairperson for the Convention steering Committee Kezzie Msukwa has announced names of candidates that have been approved to contest on the position at a press briefing underway in Lilongwe.

Among those vying for the position is Msukwa himself, Moses Kunkuyu, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma and Catherine Gotani Hara.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will go unopposed at the elective conference slated for August 8, 2024.
