Unknown thieves have broken into a shop owned by a Burundian businessman at Ngani Trade Center in Likoma District, getting away with K5 million in cash and assorted items.
According to Likoma Police spokesperson Enala Kaluwa, the shop owner, Rashid Hatajimana, did not open his business on the day of the incident due to illness, leaving the money and goods inside overnight.
Investigations have revealed that the criminals gained entry by cutting through the roof and Police are still hunting for the suspects.
