
Four Arrested in Phalombe for Possession of Live Pangolin

Police in Phalombe have arrested four men for allegedly being found in possession of a live pangolin.
District Police Spokesperson Jimmy Kapanja said the suspects were arrested yesterday at Miseu Folo Trading Centre, where they were allegedly offering the protected species for sale at K7 million.
The four have been identified as Isaac Khumbanyiwa, 25, from the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Nyezerera in Phalombe; Jackson Chikafa, 31, from TA Chinguza in Machinga; Lemison Chiondo, 38, from Chiradzulu; and Yohane Mafuleka Chisale, 41, from TA Mkanda in Mulanje District.
Kapanja said the suspects will appear in court to answer charges of being found in possession of a listed species.
