Welcome to Maula Prison Movie Heads to South Africa for International Premier

Malawian movie Welcome to Maula Prison is set to be screened in South Africa following successful showings in three regions of Malawi.
One of the producers, Desiree Namachotsa, says the South Africa screenings aim to give Malawians living there an opportunity to experience the film and help raise funds for an upcoming movie project.
Namachotsa added that while many fans are eagerly waiting for the film to be uploaded on YouTube, the team is currently focused on generating revenue through live screenings.
The film, which portrays life inside Maula Prison, will premiere in Johannesburg on 7 June, 2025, at Newtown Music Factory, with another screening planned for Cape Town date to be announced.
