Zambian Man on the Run for Allegedly Defiling 7 Year-old Girl

A man is on the run after allegedly defiling a 7-year-old girl in Monze district, Southern province in Zambia.
The man, aged between 18 and 21, and only identified as Assen, reportedly lured the girl to his house by promising to buy biscuits for her.
Southern Province Police Commanding officer, Auxensio Daka has confirmed the incident, which happened on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at around 16 hours in Manungu compound.
Daka has explained that on the material day, the girl’s mother left her daughter in the custody of her 22-year-old Sister In-Law, when she went to Kayuni area for business.
He stated that the girl then went to play with friends and only returned later in the day, and reported that she had been defiled by Assen at his house.
Daka said a docket of the case has been opened
