Mutharika Dismisses Health Rumours, Says “I Am Still Alive”

President Peter Mutharika has dismissed rumours suggesting that he is ill, insisting that he remains healthy and strong.

Speaking during a one-on-one interview on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Mutharika criticized those spreading false claims about his health.

“There are people who wish others harm by saying they have died. You may recall when I once travelled to America, some said I had died. I can assure you today that some of those people are now in their graves, but I am still here,” he said.

He further stated that his government is actively working to resolve key economic challenges, including shortages of foreign currency and fuel, in order to stabilize the country’s economy.
