Mwenefumbo breaks silence after losing by-elections in Karonga: ‘My phone has been hacked’

United Transformation Movement (UTM) candidate for the just ended Tuesday by-elections in Karonga Central Constituency Frank Tumpale Mwenefumbo has indirectly commented on his loss in the polls.

According to unofficial results from the by-elections, Mwenefumbo lost the seat to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) candidate Leonard Mwalwanda, son to late Dr. Cornelius Mwalwanda who died of Coronavirus two months ago.

Mwenefumbo has amassed 6023 votes against 6763 votes

writing on his official facebook page Mwenefumbo apologized to his follows over his silence on the matter.

“My Facebook Familly , sorry for not hearing from me . My phone has been hacked , I can not either receive nor make calls since 5pm Yesterday …Airtel is trying to reinstate the number , it shows it has been forwarded to unknown number. I’m still smiling ???????,” wrote Mwenefumbo on his facebook.

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is set to announce official results on Wednesday afternoon in Lilongwe.
