The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has today welcomed 1, 359 officers who have graduated today at Limbe Police Training School (PTS) in Blantyre.
Out of the 1, 359 graduates, 557 of them are females and 802 are males
Malawi’s Minister of Homeland Security Jean Sendeza graced the pass out parade of the new police officers.
Also in attendance is Inspector General of Police Merlyn Yolamu and her deputy Happy Mkandawire, who is responsible for administration.
The graduation follows eight months training in military tactics, physical fitness among other things.
The officers had their trainings in Police’s three training schools namely, Limbe in Blantyre, Mtakataka in Dedza and Mlangeni in Ntcheu districts.
This is the second cohort after the first one graduated in August this year.
