Man jailed 14 years for defiling 12-year-old girl in Mchinji

Mchinji Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 20- year- old Julius Tsamba to 14 years imprisonment for defiling a 12- year- old girl.
According to State prosecutors in the case Yotamu Chaonaine, Tsamba was arrested on 18 December 2023, after community members tipped the mothers victim that the convict took the girl to his house where he was found forcing himself on the victim.
Appearing in court, Tsamba denied the all the charges which prompted the state to present four witnesses including the results from the hospital.
Passing judgement, Judge Yohane Nkhata slapped Tsamba to 14 years in prison with hard labour.
Tsamba hails from Gumulira village, Traditional Authority Mabvwere in Mchinji district.
