PRISAM Backs Teacher’s Licenses Program

Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has commended a suggestion to introduce teacher licenses describing it as a step forward in promoting professionalism.
The idea as announced by Teachers Council of Malawi will require all teachers in the country to be licensed by July 1st, 2024 inorder to operate.
Meanwhile Ernest Kaonga President for PRISAM has welcomed the decision saying it will help ensure that teachers in schools are meeting the necessary requirements for their level of profession.
“This will provide assurance that educators are meeting set teaching standards as well as demonstrating their readiness to teach and improve student learning,” said Kaonga.
Teachers Union of Malawi-TUM has aldo welcomed the decision saying this will help to identify real teacher’s referring to what has already started in nurses department
