Information reaching this publication indicates that police have arrested the Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the Central Region, Alfred Gangata.
DPP Secretary General Peter Mukhito confirmed the arrest.
The reasons for Gangata’s arrest remain unknown, but reports indicate that he is being taken to Lumbazi Police Station in Lilongwe.
