Three Arrested in Nkhotakota Over Alleged Assault on NEEF Officials

Three men are currently in custody at Nkhotakota following an alleged attack on officials from the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) during a loan recovery operation conducted on February 19.

According to Chisomo Chuma, spokesperson for Nkhotakota Police, the suspects have been identified as Willy Kachingwe, 38; Stambuli Katsabola, 41; and Zakeyu Mwale, 24. The trio hails from Nkhongo Village under Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in the district.

Chuma further disclosed that law enforcement officers are actively pursuing two additional suspects who are believed to have participated in the assault and remain on the run.

Police say investigations are ongoing.
