A 36-year-old man with albinism, , who went missing two months ago in the area of Senior Chief Masumbankhunda in Lilongwe, has been found dead in a shallow grave with some body parts reportedly missing.
Member of Parliament for Lilongwe Phirilanjuzi, Peter Dimba, confirmed the development, saying the body was discovered within the same area where Laston disappeared.
According to Dimba, the case came to light after suspected perpetrators allegedly approached another man attempting to sell him human body parts.
National Police spokesperson Lael Chimtenbo has also confirmed the incident and said police have arrested one suspect identified as Musa Masano, aged 46.
Killings, attacks, and grave exhumations involving people with albinism in Malawi have for years been linked to harmful myths and false beliefs that their body parts can bring wealth and good fortune through rituals.
