One of the well-known musicians in the country King James Phiri has been dragged to court by his fellow musician for allegedly pocketing money for show which he did not honour.
According to one of the privately owned online publication (Zodiak online), Phiri was supposed to perform at Zambezi Evangelical Church on June 28, 2015 as support artist Odala Zamapemba and he pocketed money amounting to MK28,000 as an advance.
Despite the agreement, Phiri did not show up for the show he did not give any reason, forcing Zamapemba to call off the show.
In case filed before Ntcheu Magistrate Court, Zamapemba wants Phiri to pay him damages amounting to K99, 500 which, plus court fees, amounts to K113, 900.
Meanwhile Phiri has confirmed of the development in an interview.
