Awilo Longomba to perform at Sand Music Festival scheduled for October 27

Sand Music Festival organisers have unveiled its second international act in Congelese star Awilo Longomba ahead of the festival to be held in Salima October end.

The festival returns this year from 27th to 29th October at Livingstonia Beach in Salima district.

South Africa’s Thulasizwe was the first international act to be unveiled.

Impakt Events’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lucius Banda unveiled the artist through a facebook post seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

“Awilo is comming to sand festival on the 27-28-29 OCTOBER. 2017,” wrote Banda on his official facebook page.

The artist came to light in 1998 with his second CD Coupe Bibamba which was followed by by Kafou Kafou (2001) and an album, Mondongo (2004), which features Japponais, Dally Kimoko, Caen Madoka, Djudjuchet, Josky Kiambukuta and Simaro Lutumba.
