Chakwera finally casts his vote

Tonse Alliance torchbearer Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also President of the Malawi Congress party (MCP) has exercised his constitutional right by voting in the fresh Presidential polls.

Chakwera together with shadow first lady Monica voted at Malembo polling centre in the capital Lilongwe.

Speaking to the press after voting, Chakwera expressed hope in the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) that it will deliver based on Malawians expectation.

His runningmate Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also State Vice President was the first one to vote St. Thomas primary school Lilongwe City constituency.

Voting in all poling centres across the country started at 6am and will close at 6pm in the evening today.
