Mutharika in tears over Lovemore Munlo’s death

Former President Peter Mutharika has expressed sadness over the death of over the passing of former Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo, SC.

Munlo, who once contested for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Presidency ahead of the 2014 polls died this morning at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

Writing on his official facebook page Mutharika said the country has lost a great man full of wisdom and integrity.

“As former President of the Republic of Malawi, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Chief Justice Honourable Dr. Lovemore Munlo (Rtd).

“As a country we have lost a great man full of wisdom and integrity.

“Justice Dr. Lovemore Munlo served this nation with zeal, passion, patriotism and hardwork,” said Mutharika.

He added: “He shall be remembered as one of the great men in the Judiciary who worked tirelessly for the best interest of our country.

“Gertrude and I extend our condolences to the bereaved family.”

Munlo will be laid to rest this coming Saturday.
