Bar Owner Nabbed For Wounding Customer In Mangochi

Police in Mangochi district have arrested Paul Milambo, 45, the owner of Club Zero Bar for assaulting a customer identified as Rashid Kamtedza, 20, with a metal object.

According to Mangochi Police Spokesperson Sub-inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, the incident occurred on the night of May 7, 2022 at Club Zero Bar within Mangochi Township.

It is reported that on the night of the said date, the two were having a good time at the bar. Suddenly wrangles erupted between the duo who were both drunk for the reasons best known to themselves resulted into a fight.

In the heat of fighting the bar owner produced a metal object and stabbed the customer on the abdomen who collapsed instantly.

He was rushed to Mangochi District Hospital where he is receiving treatment after sustaining a deep cut wound.

Meanwhile the owner has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm which contravenes section 235 of the Penal Code and will appear before court after the condition of the victim will be stabilised.

Milambo hails from Michesi Village, Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi.
