Seventh Day Adventist’s South Malawi Conference has disowned one of its churches, Bangwe SDA, for promoting teachings contrary to the church’s beliefs.

A statement signed by the conference’s President, Wyson Thomas, has instructed church groups or individual members not to visit Bangwe SDA Church for any other activities.

“In the same way, any request from Bangwe for any services from either church, church groups or individual members must not be approved,” reads the statement that some senior church members have authenticated.

The letter further said that this is a temporary decision and that the conference will announce in the near future its permanent decision on the matter.

Some sources have told us that, among other things, officials at Bangwe were allowing female members to take charge of church service, dress their hair and put on miniskirts.
