Triephornia Mpinganjira Deactivates Facebook Pages to Combat Scammers

Prominent public figure  and Philanthropist  Triephornia Thomson Mpinganjira has temporarily deactivated all her Facebook pages and personal accounts, according to a statement from her social media manager.

The decision comes amid rising concerns over fake pages and impersonators misusing her identity. The move is intended to support ongoing efforts by her team to identify and take action against scammers.“This decision has been made to support the efforts of the team currently working to identify and take action against scammers and the widespread creation of fake pages,” the notice reads.

Her team says updates will be provided once she is ready to return to her online platforms.

Mpinganjira is among a growing number of public figures facing challenges with online impersonation, a trend that continues to affect digital trust and safety in Malawi and beyond.
