7 people who were arrested for pelting stones at Mutharika’s convoy granted bail

Information reaching this publication indicates that Blantyre Senior Resident Magistrate Court has granted bail to seven people who were arrested in Ndirande for allegedly pelting stones at President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s motorcade.

The seven have been charged with three counts of malicious damage and one of unlawful wounding.

The case has since been adjourned to 13:00 today for the vetting of the sureties.

On Monday, the presiding Magistrate reserved its ruling on the matter and the case was adjourned to today Wednesday.

The seven are Maloya Gulani, Jonathan William, McCloud Mulima, John Meleka, Daniel Kaole, Precious Zulu and Joseph Matchado.

They are being represented by lawyer Wester Kosamu.
