Uladi appeals his 5 year jail sentence

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for Central Region Uladi Mussa has appealed his five year jail sentence at the Supreme Court.

Mussa’s lawyer Paul Maulidi confirmed of the development in an interview, saying the lower court erred in law in arriving at its judgment to convict his client and the subsequent sentencing.

According to Maulidi, the evidence that was presented at the court was not enough to secure a conviction.

Mussa together with David Kwanjana were sentenced to five years jail sentence by High Court Judge Chifundo or abuse of office and 1 year imprisonment for the offence of neglect of duty.

Mussa committed the offence during the reign of former President Dr. Joyce Banda where he was serving as Minister of Homeland Security.
