State House Confirms Mutharika’s Third Private Visit To South Africa

President of Malawi Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is expected to travel to the Republic of South Africa today on a private visit.

According to a press release issued by Chief Secretary Dr Justin Adack K. Saidi, the President will depart Kamuzu International Airport at 2:00 PM on 12 June 2026.

The statement confirms that the trip is private, with no further details provided regarding the purpose or duration of the visit.

This will be the President’s third extended foreign trip since assuming office on 16 September last year, following earlier visits in January and March 2026.

Government has not yet disclosed when the President is expected to return.
