President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will today lay a wreath on the mausoleum of late Chakufwa Chihana, one of the pioneers of the multiparty democracy in the country.

State House Press officer Brian Banda has confirmed of the development in a statement released on Sunday made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Banda, Chakwera will arrive at the mausoleum anytime from now.

Chihana, founder of the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) died in 2006 and was buried in Mzuzu City.

He once served as Second Vice President under the reign of Dr. Bakili Muluzi.
