The body of Andrew Makina Majawa who died suddenly in United Kingdom (UK) on November 10 ,2022 has been laid to rest in Ekwendeni Township in the northern district of Mzimba.
Makina was an in-law to state Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM).
The funeral ceremony of Makina which took place on Sunday brought together people of different political background.
President Dr.Lazarus Chakwera was represented at the funeral by Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara.
Other notable faces at the funeral were former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachali, Minister of Tourism and Culuture Michael Usi who also spoke on behalf of Chilima.
Minister of Transport at Public Works Jacob Hara, Minister of Gender Patricia Kaliati also attended the funeral.
Makina is survived by a wife and a son.
