Police in Nsanje have launched a manhunt for assailants suspected to have murdered Lasteki Thom, aged 56, whose body was found in bush in Chamveka village under Traditional Authority Makoko in the district.
According to the district’s police spokesperson, Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma comfirmed the sad incident saying that on Friday, Thom left his home village for Kadzuwa village apparently to pay his sister a visit before planning to check on another relation in another village located on the other side of a dense forest, however he never reached the intended destination.
She added that postmortem showed that the cause of death was manual strangulation.
Lasteki Thom, hailed from Mulira 1 village, T/A Makoko, Nsanje district.
