Police at Kanengo in Lilongwe have arrested eight people for suspecting them that they allegedly stole assorted manufacturing products at Novus Industries in the city.
Spokesperson for Kanengo police Station, Grasham Ngwira has confirmed the arrest and said, among the suspects five are women and the rest are men.
Ngwira further said that, the police received a complaint from the General Manager of the company, on 17 January 2024 stating that he discovered that brand stickers, flavours, empty cartons and bottle tops were missing .
“The Law Enforcers launched the investigations into the matter which indicated that four workers from the company took part in selling the items to the suspects, not only that but also some of the stolen items were recovered,” Ngwira said.
The eight suspects are expected to appear in court soon to answer two charges of theft and being found with stolen properties.
