Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda has said that the fiscal year 2024/2025, total revenue is projected to reach 4.55 trillion Kwacha, with 3.38 trillion coming from domestic sources and 3.26 trillion Kwacha from tax revenue.
Additionally, grants are expected to contribute 1.17 trillion Kwacha.
Total expenditure is estimated at 5.98 trillion Kwacha, with 30 percent allocated to wages and salaries, amounting to 1.08 trillion Kwacha.
The budget reveals a deficit of 1.4 trillion Kwacha, of which 1.2 trillion is anticipated to be covered through domestic borrowing, while 150 billion Kwacha will be sourced externally.
