Reports indicate that the Zomba-Limbe road under construction has suddenly become a hot spot for robbers meant at carjacking from unsuspecting motorists.
According to a local radio station, the carjackers have taken to using the road which is expected to be completed next year as their spot for carjacking by, among others, removing sign posts so as to confuse motorists by leading them to the dead end of the road where they will be able to properly jack them of their cars.
This is not the first time that carjacking has been reported on the road but authorities have not taken decisive steps towards curbing the practice as Malawi police could not comment on the recent attacks made to motorists using the road.
